A warranty is a promise made by a manufacturer or a seller of a product that guarantees some aspect of the product. Sometimes it’s in writing and sometimes it’s just expected under the law. In other words, it’s a promise to stand by the product and to protect consumers even when the product breaks. It requires that the product or its value is provided to the consumer for a reasonable period of time, usually 6 months or a year, depending on the state. If the product doesn’t operate correctly, and it did not meet the consumer’s expectations then a buyer, owner or consumer can get help for that problem.
